Business Kick-off 2024 – FER

Another successful Business Kick-off 2024 last Tuesday at Palexpo, under the patronage of the Federation of French-speaking Swiss Businesses (FER).

As always, it was an opportunity to network, this event being the largest gathering of entrepreneurs in French-speaking Switzerland. Before gathering around various generously stocked buffets, the traditional speeches were held. Only three speakers, through short and dynamic presentations, reviewed the past year from an economic perspective and presented upcoming economic challenges as well as the stakes of the next votes. An overall positive assessment, and here’s what we took away from the speeches:

“Let us be proud of our canton, proud of our country, and project ourselves confidently into the future,” urged Mr. Yvan Slatkine, President of the FER.

 

“Being useful to you is our ambition, our driving force, our pride,” announced the General Director of the FER, Mr. Philippe Fleury. He took the opportunity to list the actions successfully carried out during his first mandate, punctuating them with the anaphora “that’s done”; and to announce the arrival of future services to support the private economy and defend the interests of member companies.

 

“Geneva is doing well,” affirmed Ms. Delphine Bachmann, State Councillor in charge of the Department of Economy and Employment (DEE). The previous year’s budget surplus now allows for two tax cuts to be put to a vote. “If Geneva is so prosperous, it is thanks to you and your activities. Thank you!”
