Back-to-Business 2023 – FER
Back-to-Business 2023: an edition marked by renewal
On August 22, 2023, FER Geneva held its traditional Back-to-Business event. As every year, the event highlighted the key issues of the new season and offered a unique networking space.
Strong attendance
Approximately 3,200 people took part in this edition. This figure confirms the importance of this event for the Geneva economy. Indeed, it illustrates FER’s ability to bring together leaders, entrepreneurs, and decision-makers around major themes.
A new Director General
2023 marked a significant change. Philippe Fleury became Director General of FER Geneva, succeeding Blaise Matthey. As a result, Back-to-Business 2023 was his first public appearance in this role. His speech highlighted a clear ambition: to put the client at the centre and strengthen services, notably in cybersecurity and digitalisation.
Strong political messages
Several public figures spoke.
-
Delphine Bachmann, State Councillor, reaffirmed the State’s support for the local economy.
-
Ivan Slatkine, President of FER, stressed the need for stable framework conditions. He also called for more business-friendly taxation.
These messages demonstrated a shared determination to create a climate conducive to prosperity.
The SPARK project
In addition, the 2023 edition provided an opportunity to present a flagship project: SPARK. This future training campus, located in Plan-les-Ouates, will bring together initial training, continuing education, academic programmes, and reintegration. This project illustrates FER’s commitment to preparing the skills of tomorrow.
A moment of exchange and forward-looking perspectives
However, Back-to-Business is not only a platform. Above all, it remains a place to meet. Participants find new opportunities, share their visions, and build connections. Finally, these exchanges fuel the vitality of the Geneva economy and strengthen the local entrepreneurial spirit.
